I have recently completed my internship as a Digital Media Designer at Core Business Intelligence in Canada. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our CEO, Dean Lucrezi, for his exceptional understanding and support throughout my internship journey. This experience has been truly invaluable, providing me with a firsthand and enriching exposure to the Canadian professional landscape. My role encompassed a wide array of responsibilities, all of which have significantly contributed to my professional growth.
One of my significant achievements was the implementation of a new BLOG page on the company’s website. I created a custom PHP template file to design the layout and authored the initial 19 blog posts. This project also included the development of a search function, allowing users to filter content by keyword and category. I also undertook the responsibility of updating and organizing the existing website menus, contents, and links. These updates were made in alignment with CEO Dean Lucrezi’s directives, ensuring an improved user experience and a more organized website structure.
Furthermore, I designed and configured a newsletter email template, along with a subscription form. This initiative was aimed at preparing for the seamless delivery of new blog post updates to all subscribers, enhancing our communication with our audience.
Additionally, I had the privilege of designing a LinkedIn visual template. This template was specifically created for announcing new blog posts on the platform, contributing to our content marketing strategy, and increasing our online visibility.
Lastly, I was tasked with designing various marketing materials for the company. This encompassed the creation of materials highlighting our comprehensive range of services and the core pillars that define our business.
Throughout this journey, I encountered several challenges, including working with the limitations of our current WordPress theme, delving into PHP coding, and updating the custom CSS file while preserving the integrity of the existing website code. I also delved into concepts such as child themes and custom templates in WordPress. These challenges, though initially daunting, served as invaluable learning experiences, fostering my professional growth.
It has been truly rewarding to receive the CEO’s input and approval on my designs, and this experience has undoubtedly been a remarkable learning opportunity for me.
Anyarin has been nothing short of excellent! She faced devastating personal challenges at the beginning of the term and throughout, but we worked it out together. She used incredible time management skills and hard work to catch up on missed time at the beginning, and produced exceptional, creative ideas, sketches, designs and a spectacular finished product. Anyarin was determined to research and figure out all challenges and I’m extremely proud of her and grateful for having her on the Core Business Intelligence team.
